Part of: Neefox
Overview
Neefox has no beach. Its harbour is a small, sheltered one at the foot of the cliff, with little fishing piers built out from the rock and a quay for the silver ships. Banks of smelters line the waterfront among heaps of charcoal and spent ore, and the taverns along the piers serve dock workers, smelters and miners. Posts outside the taverns carry the town’s notices.
When the mine fell silent, the harbour told the story to anyone who knew boats. The galleons and merchant ships at the quay rode high and empty in the water, the smelters stood cold, and the taverns were packed at midday with men who should have been at work. The posts were covered in missing-person notices, dozens of them, each with a picture, and not all for miners: fishermen and farmers from the inland farms were on them too. Hidden among the drawings was a spiral rune winding in to an eye.

In the story
- Session 1: The six came in on the same ship and found the galleons idle and the taverns full. Professor Simley met the governor’s gnome assistant in the middle of the street.
- Session 3: Bernard met them on the dock with his ledger of not-quite-right drawings. Sent back by his hypothetical whisper, they found the notices and the hidden spiral-eye runes, and Zorbin was served ale instead of wine.
- Session 4: Brendan read the empty ships from the deck before they tied up. Bernard recognised Adam from his list at the quay.
