Role: The Baronet Sorrel’s bodyguard
First met: Session 1 Recap - The Baronet’s Commission
A figure seven or eight feet tall in heavy armour, styled like the gate guards’, who follows the Baronet as closely as a hound. She hardly speaks, only grunts. Her movements are jerky and her grip is badly judged: asked to pour drinks, she crushed a crystal decanter. The Baronet calls this her “disability” and says she has “been through some things recently.” He also says she recently crushed a thief’s skull with her bare hands.

What the party observed

  • The smell: chemical, like formaldehyde, with something spicy on top to cover it, and it gets worse the longer she is in the room. Lucia called it a meaty smell rather than a corpse smell. Sandy is sure she has smelled it before.
  • The eyes: close up, through the visor, the whites are vivid yellow and the irises look like slits.
  • Not undead. Thalan’s divine sense found nothing undead in the room.
  • When Sandy tripped her she fell hard, got up slowly, and stared at Sandy without expression. When Lucia shook her hand, she lurched forward.
  • She seems to like the cool of the study.

Party theories

Lizard, snake or chimera. Lucia noted the Baronet’s devotion to a serpent god.

Heard in Bitter End

From Session 2 Recap - Three to the Dawn.

  • She was in Bitter End about a month ago with the Baronet. The The Innkeeper of the Stewpot says she stood in a corner of the Stewpot “stinking up the place” until he asked her to leave.
  • The Warehouse Guard remembers a woman Sandy’s size who was loud, partied hard, beat everyone at arm-wrestling, took their money, and then went into the Bitter Market. Sandy thinks that was her sister. The party hasn’t confirmed whether the two stories describe the same woman.
  • In the Valley of Lost Bearings Sandy found a toy horse that her sister had stolen and broken when they were children, whole again.
