Pirate — Buccaneer. Captain of the crew. Played by Ron.
The toughest man you have ever met, fitted with an inexplicable glass jaw and no luck whatsoever. Wears a chain shirt, carries a very fine rapier and a musket slung across his back. Also the most religious man alive, without ever being specific about which religion — whatever fits the moment.
His cabin at the stern holds an ornate desk hauled off a Spanish galleon at the peak of his career, a disheveled cot where everyone else gets a hammock, and an embarrassing number of amulets, crosses and holy symbols on the one tidy thing in the room: a rack sorted by country of origin.
Session 1 — Marley’s Bones
Taken as captain to the old fort and kept in a lashed cage of driftwood and bamboo in the courtyard, in manacles and a ball and chain, twenty feet from the gallows two soldiers were building for him. Spent the evening muttering curses with a facial tic going.
Became a completely different man the moment Barnabas landed on his cage.
Got out by jamming the alarm bell’s clapper — snipped loose by Pierre Snaggletooth and delivered to him — into the padlock and smashing it open, and walked out through the portcullis while Chubs sang on the rum barrel and Lucky Joe worked the two guards like a carnival crowd. The frame of that cage, it turned out, had been built with one of Marley’s arms lashed into it; he carried the arm into the jungle and waited in the treeline, cradling it, until the birds found him again.
Fired the opening shot of the ambush at the mountaintop. When the jewels came out of the sand he went to his knees and started praying in Creole.
