Not really a village — the handful of buildings that service the fort and the barracks. A tavern, a jail, a boatwright and a general store.
The tavern runs card games late into the night. Senna the Whisperer talked her way into one and left through the window.
The jail is a small building with a barred external window and iron cells inside. Lee Raggedy Carter was held here. It is now occupied by its own jailer — a drunk who was demoted to this post, locked in his own cell, hamstrung and without a tongue.
What he said before that: the commander has been turning the island upside down for a month looking for a treasure the last pirates buried, and does not think it exists. And that the commander killed the last pirate who might have known where it was — shot her right in the face.
