Player: Player 16
Species: Human
Class: Sorcerer-Warlock

A human of noble birth, with facial hair, silver dragon scales and a cloak he likes to let billow. His magic runs to ice. In the ritual circle his scales glowed a radiant gold and his beard caught fire.

Origins

Brendan comes from a noble house, and was taught there that nobility serves the people and not the other way around. He has sailed before, pirate ships among them, and has dealt with a number of cults on his travels. He came to Neefox to make a name for himself, and not by leaving a place worse than he found it.

Veins of Silver Fire

Session 4: The Floor Gives Way

  • The harbour: he saw what was wrong before the ship tied up: every merchant vessel at the quay rode high in the water, unloaded.
  • The governor: he pressed Vane on why a cave-in needed adventurers, and told him that nobility serves the people. Protect everyone, except for the people you’re sending into caves.
  • The road: he called up a flat, round disc of force so cold it steamed, and Adam rode up the mountain on it. Ashton told him she wasn’t used to meeting people of his stature with such honourable morals.
  • Into the mine: he made his silver dagger glow like moonlight and carried it as a torch. He knew the spiral-eye carving for the mark of the Cult of the Elemental Eye, which worships mad elemental powers that want to break into the world and devour it. He found no magic in it. The lift came down on him with Argo, and on the ride up he pushed the falling earth aside with his magic.
  • The burrower: he froze the beast with a ray of cold, then clung to the wall like a spider and fired two crackling beams into the crack beneath it until the floor broke. Afterwards he walked down the wall at his leisure, cloak billowing.
  • The disguise: he took a broken trident tip from the dead Azer as a keepsake and cast a glamour that gave him a fiery beard and the whole look of one. He understood Forge’s Ignan, and untied Adam to prove the prisoner was on their side.
  • The peninsula: two daggers of ice showed everyone that cold hurt the salamanders twice as badly as anything else. Punching the air with a diamond ring on his fist, he sent a great ball of ice into one, and it shattered into a thousand pieces. When the other coiled around him he blinked out of its grip in a puff of mist.
  • The circle: he held Forge’s power at the altar, and when the cavern heaved and Adam slid towards the lava, he caught the gnome by the back of his jacket and hauled him back into the circle.
