Veins of Silver Fire

Session 4: The Floor Gives Way

  • The governor: she was certain Governor Vane was lying about the cultists, and told him he was only trying to protect everyone. (She gets it.) While he watched Adam go over his books she slipped his silver letter opener into her pocket.
  • Into the mine: she took a pickaxe from the camp and herb-soaked bandages from Ashton. In the tunnel she spotted the spiral-eye carving, then scouted ahead alone in the dark, found the three dead miners and took the bronze cog from the dwarf’s overalls.
  • The lift: she called the others with the agreed bird call, Nevermore!, and checked the lift for traps. Her rope slipped through her hands and the platform came down on her and Brendan. On the ride up a rock glanced off her helmet. Brain injury is no joke. At the top she took the helmet off so the cult wouldn’t take her for the miner who had worn it.
  • The burrower: she slid underneath the beast as it landed, threw dirt in its eyes and slipped away. When it forgot her she came in behind it with scimitar and dagger, drove both into the gap in its armour and cut the end off its tail.
  • The disguise: she dressed as an Azer and walked Adam into the temple as their prisoner.
  • The peninsula: she vanished in a puff of silver mist and reappeared behind a salamander to open its throat. She picked the chain gang’s lock and pulled the chain out through every manacle in one go, and told Char her sister was waiting up top. Her arrows took the last salamander in the eye and then the throat.
  • The way out: when the Cataclysm’s lava knocked Adam down she forced a potion into his mouth and held his jaw shut until he swallowed. She carried two miners out, one over each shoulder.
  • The letter opener: before she left the camp she gave the governor’s silver letter opener to Ashton. She could make something off it.
