Player: Player 12
Species: Forest Gnome
Class: Barbarian
A forest gnome with a proper gnome nose (Bernard’s ledger wrongly drew her with a very small human one), a red shirt, a maul and a pair of light hammers that fly back to her hand. In the mine she wore a dead miner’s helmet.
Veins of Silver Fire
Session 3: Definitely Not Cultists
- The governor: she very quietly nicked Ashton’s tail as the foreman stormed past. In the office she asked whether the expendables got red shirts, and pointed out that she was already wearing one.
- Hypothetically: she drew Bernard aside and asked him in Gnomish, purely hypothetically, what the cultist rumours would be if there were any. He whispered that she should check the notices outside the tavern.
- The road: she told Ashton the miners mattered far more than the ore. Ashton’s sister was the dramatic one, Ashton said, and she was the angry one, and Bobby understood angry very well.
- The dead: she gathered the dead miners’ keepsakes for their families and worked out how each had died. When the cog fell from the crew leader’s pocket she guessed he had pulled it so nobody could follow him in.
- The lift: she judged the jammed rig with a carpenter’s eye, then heaved one rope with everything she had while Zorbin took the other, and the platform cracked back onto its track. She took the crank with her at the top. Safety first.
- The burrowers: a bulette bit her twice, savagely, and her rage carried her through it. She smashed it on one side of the jaw and the other, and her light hammers kept flying into its skull until it spat out teeth.
- The peninsula: she crushed one salamander’s jaw, squirted out of another’s coils like a greased pig, and knocked a third clean off the rock into the magma. She pulled the chain out through the captives’ manacles and carried two exhausted miners out of the caldera.
