Player: Nick
Species: Gnome
Class: Wizard

A gnome who goes nowhere without his notepad and quill. In the mine he wore a dead miner’s helmet that sat on him like a child wearing his father’s fire helmet. The ritual left him unsure he had any hair or eyebrows left, and what remained stayed faintly red.

Session 3: Definitely Not Cultists

  • The governor: he wrote everything down. Not cultists. Definitely not cultists. He underlined mine more important, and admitted later he had known it wasn’t true.
  • The notices: he knew the spiral rune hidden among the missing-person notices for the mark of the Cult of the Elemental Eye. At the camp: It’s never not cultists.
  • The dead: he set a small glowing skull on each of the three dead miners, so they would know them again if bodies went missing, and wrote 3 bodies in his notebook. He kept the cog.
  • The lift: he maintained that his spectral hand had helped free the lift. On the way up he looked up when he should have ducked, and a rock hit him in the face.
  • The caldera: the fall hit him worst, and the heat after it. He knew the dead in bronze for Azer of the Elemental Plane. He raised a small shelter in a corner that looked like a treehouse inside, and later worked a ritual that let him understand Forge and translate for the others.
  • The peninsula: he slowed all three salamanders at once. When Zorbin dropped a stunned salamander at his feet, his bolt of cold crystallised it and it shattered into a thousand pieces. He tried to slow the Cataclysm too, and it reached into the air, caught the spell and pulled it into its mouth.
  • The circle: with Hank he held Forge’s hands at the altar until his hair burned. When the last chain snapped the quake threw him out of the circle and down the slope towards the lava, and Hank caught him and swung him back. Afterwards he asked to be reminded never to go into a volcano again.
