Role: A foundling infant adopted by the party
Status: Unknown — vanished without a trace near the end of Session 2, last seen as an old woman

Origins

Found by the party in a ransacked nursery deep in Castle Ravenloft (Session 2): a single bassinet, rocking on its own, holding a freshly born baby girl still covered in blood and fluid with her umbilical cord attached. She was swaddled in Enki’s own childhood blanket — a detail no one has explained — and quieted immediately once Enki picked her up and sang to her. He named her Clover on the spot and has carried her ever since.

The Aging

Clover’s growth has been nothing like normal. Over the course of a single night in Session 2, she aged from a newborn to a toddler during the party’s rope descent from the castle’s exterior balcony (no one noticed it happen), to what looked like a teenage girl by the time they reached the ruined chapel — old enough to be embarrassed by her “dad” turning into a bat in front of her.
It didn’t stop there. Leaving Strahd’s feast later that same night, the party found a haggard, middle-aged woman waiting in a corridor, worn out and exasperated that “Dad” hadn’t watched “the kid” — Clover once more, aged decades further, who handed over a plain doll and asked for five minutes alone before wandering off. Later still, down in the castle’s crypts, an old woman approached Enki, calling him “husband” before catching herself and saying he looked just like her father — Clover again, now seemingly at the far end of a full lifetime, her memory failing. Brought near Sergei’s ghost, she called him “husband” too; Sergei, a stranger to her, gently told her to go live what time she had left, and she wandered off at peace.
Sometime after that — no one saw exactly when — the party looked for her and found nothing. Where she’d last stood was a single black rose, tied with a bow. She was gone, and the session ended before she reappeared.
Her eyes, at every stage, stayed a deep violet.

Parentage

Mother: Unconfirmed. What’s known is that Clover’s mother worked at the castle; the party suspects that maid was Dorothy, who led the original party through Ravenloft back in Session 1 (see Dorothy’s page), but the connection hasn’t been confirmed.
Father: Unknown. Any theory tying Sergei (or anyone else) to Clover as her father remains pure speculation, not established lore. A hallway portrait shows Tatiana with vivid red hair, while Clover, once old enough to show features, was noted to have black hair — though that was observed before the night’s later, stranger transformations.

Session 3 — Parentage Confirmed

Fleeing down the mountainside, the party found the castle’s white-haired maid, Dorothy, waiting in a clearing full of webs — and she smelled her child on them. Enki handed over the black rose Clover had left behind. Dorothy cradled it, rocked it, and sang a nursery rhyme over it, then told them what the Count had done to her: she came to him seeking shelter, he was kind to her, and when my child was born, he turned me and left me in a room with it alone. She thanked the party for showing her daughter kindness and let them go.
Mother: confirmed — Dorothy. The long-standing party guess was right. Dorothy is also revealed to be a spider-creature: eight eyes set into her forehead beneath her hair, and a spider’s abdomen the party had mistaken for the cushion she was sitting on.
The black rose left with her. Whatever Clover was, her mother has her back.
Father: still unknown.
