Laika · Tracer 3 (X-Agent) · Homeworld Astrovega · Faction: the Argonauts

Appearance

A compact upright canine, barely four feet tall, with a short muzzle, bright alert eyes and large ears he keeps pointed forward. Short dense fur in warm sable brown with cream across the chest and muzzle. Light composite-weave armour over a utility harness crowded with pouches, an oversized pack, and a slim folding deck clipped where he can reach it without looking.

Background

Franklin was a grid spiker before he was anything else — good enough at it to be useful, and useful enough to be noticed. He was caught skimming, and skimming turned into offsetting accounts for the Nexus Consortium: making payments disappear, and not asking what they were for.
He turned informant. Then he joined the Argonauts, who put him to work investigating the Polaris Society and Kyojin Energy.
He believes the only way to square what he did is to uncover the corruption he helped hide. The problem is that he has no idea where to start. There are too many players, too many moving pieces, and every thread he picks up turns out to be attached to six others.

Loadout

Spiking Deck — security access, falsified transponder codes, forged IDs, programs and spell chips.
Weapons — laser rifle, plasma pistol, quickblade, and a bite he will absolutely use.
Also carries — grav spikes, pry bar, synth line, hypertech component pack, 4 power cells.

Notable

  • Pack Minded. When someone near him fails, he can push them over the line — and they take the next hit better for it.
  • Redacted Identity. Under the right conditions, people simply cannot remember anything identifying about him afterwards.
  • Speaks Common, Astronian, Phytoss, Sideric, Promean and Smuggler’s Slang.

Compassionate Use

Got thrown across the Khymera farm in the first seconds and shot back from the wall he landed on. Leapt at a Boom Bot with nothing but his teeth. At Hope’s Reach he looked up Tovac Wren through his Argonaut connections and forged a charge-nurse badge for every member of the crew off Nurse Trevaine’s — the forgery that got them past the pharmacy’s guns. In the cold room he put himself between Imee Sarra and the dead and laid a ward on her. Coloured his kids’ menu at the Astro-Burger, twice, the second time while the police were landing.
