Role: Colony security (effectively the only one)
Tenka is, by his own admission, “what passes for security” at Siddhartha’s Peace. He escorted the crew from the landing field to the colony office, pointing out the ocean generators, the desalination plant, and the temple along the way. He’s aware of the civil unrest and the nighttime gatherings of colonists carrying torches and wearing sword-and-flame pins, but seems to genuinely not know what’s behind the broadcasts or the space elevator’s lockdown — or isn’t saying. He locks the starport fence at 7 PM and mentioned he’s the only person on the planet who carries a real firearm.
When the colony rose, Tenka was the only thing standing between the cultists and the administrators barricaded inside the colony office. He got an automated sentry turret set up on a conference table on the second floor and armed it with his own security credentials — the same credentials Bennett II later found when he took control of it — and then went from window to window with his sniper rifle, holding the front of the building alone. By the time the crew reached him he was on his back on the floor of the Abbot’s office with blood coming through the bandages on his side and a leg wound he couldn’t stop, telling them over the comms that he didn’t know where the cultists had gotten military hardware, that they must have been stockpiling it, and asking for slack on the grounds that he was bleeding out. Marge carried him out on her shoulder while he used the rifle as a crutch. He is now aboard The Second Chance, wounded, along with the rest of the evacuated colony staff.
At the terraforming station (Session 5: Welcome, Traveler), Tenka went out with Jon’s salvage party onto the docking ring anyway — broken arm, broken leg, stimmed to the eyes, his shotgun duct-taped to his forearm, riding the hover dolly while one of the colonists pushed.
