Role: Colony office administrator
Jian runs the front desk at the colony office — a sleepy, earnest true believer in Neo-Buddhism who nearly signed the crew up as new colonists before realizing they weren’t there to stay. He handed out welcome packets and, given half a chance, will talk at length about the philosophy behind the colony (an AI administrator handling the drudgery so humans are free to pursue what gives them purpose). The crew used a long conversation with him as cover while Bennett II slipped upstairs to plant a listening device in the comms room.
Jian survived the assault on the colony office and was evacuated off the roof with the rest of the surviving administration — Odo, Fugen, Tenka and five other office workers. He is now aboard The Second Chance, one of roughly twenty refugees the crew pulled off a colony they left burning behind them.
