Run by: The Evangelical Solarian Church (ESC)
The Farm is a section of Prospero’s Dream run by the Solarian Church — both the station’s principal food producer and an important holy site for the Solarians, with pilgrims making the journey each year to see the Aarnivalkea, a sacred tree.
The fields are worked by three groups of monks who don’t entirely agree with each other. The Soil, tunics stitched with a hand cupping a sapling, run a booth handing out food rations and oxygen tokens to the poor — by raising up everyone, we raise up humanity. The Shears run a booth of their own nearby, signing up the poor and dying for something considerably darker: rendering, for those who can’t survive on their own, to better serve the fertilizer needs of those who can. The largest group by far is the unaligned clergy, who mostly lean toward the Soil’s compassion without formally taking a side — though the Shears are unsettlingly gaining ground.
The Farm’s High Gardener, Ukko/Ukka, oversees operations here on the Church’s behalf, and leans sympathetic to the Soil.
