| The Superstar Games Caper | 2372-07-09 | No | ~15 years before current day; exact date not pinned down. The crew, then kids around 12-14 (now in their mid-20s), broke into the ruins of Superstar Games hunting for copies of the legendarily unreleased Grand Theft Space 6000. They found animatronics built to look like game characters, a group of people who’d been hiding down there for years, and small clawed creatures tearing through gaps between realities. They escaped with stolen game copies — and Yandee, who they beat to the heist, has held a grudge (and a debt) over it ever since. |
| The Baobun Incident | 2387-07-01 | No | The bao bun stand’s animatronic mascot turned out to be an armed war machine; the crew escaped with one bun (an alien egg), which later hatched inside Marge at the Babushka’s clinic. |
| Departed Prospero’s Dream | 2387-07-02 | No | The Second Chance left dock with the apple tree shipment, bound for Siddhartha’s Peace via jump lane J1. |
| Encountered the wreck | 2387-07-05 | No | A derelict half-ship marked “MARTIN RAYNE” found adrift en route, scarred by old combat damage. The crew marked its position to recover later rather than risk towing it in. |
| The Night of the Prophet | 2387-07-09 | No | The colony rises. Every screen in Siddhartha’s Peace shows the flame and the spear; converts take the streets; the colony office is breached and besieged. Abbot Ben Shirayuki is taken up the space elevator at gunpoint. The crew fight their way in and evacuate roughly twenty people off the roof. |
| Arrived at Siddhartha’s Peace | 2387-07-09 | No | Made planetfall at the colony’s starport by the space elevator, delivered the tree shipment, and met Ensho, Tenka, Jian, and Abbot Ben Shirayuki. |
| Boarded by the Iron Cross | 2387-07-10 | Yes | In the small hours, the crew dock with The Second Chance and walk into an ambush by Capt. Vane “Rusty” Kross and the Iron Cross boarding party. They lose the tree cargo and all their jump fuel. Kross, Mara “Three Cut” Thrall, Jax Vanko and Jason “Fox” Fiero are killed; the ship’s self-destruct is disabled with a second to spare. Zeid and the cloaked swordswoman Tanya are still aboard. |
