Role: Pilots for Ouroboros Airways, on the Godshome–Bitter End water run
First met: Session 2 Recap - Three to the Dawn
Two dwarves who spend the time between flights in lawn chairs outside the Ouroboros hangar, drinking ale, with thirty or forty empties in the sand around them. They ignore passengers until given a reason not to. Lucia’s greeting and her beard got them moving (“I like a woman with a good beard. Something to hold on to”). They are not good pilots and are probably never entirely sober. They agreed to carry the camels only if the party did the shovelling, and they handed Elunia the shovel.
- They fly to Bitter End every week, because the town needs the water.
- Parting words: “Thank you for flying Ouroboros Airways. Don’t forget to tip your pilots. We’ll see you in a few weeks. If you’re not here, we’ll assume you’re dead.”
Their engineer
A gnome who pottered about the aircraft and loaded the red chaos crystals that power its engines. He asks every flight whether he can fly the plane today. The answer, from both dwarves at once, is always no.
The aircraft
A large three-winged freighter of wood and canvas, with two propellers beside the hull, runners for landing on sand, harness seats bolted along the walls, and a hold racked for water casks. It flies out of Godshome — the City of the Mount from a salt-flat airfield northwest of the airship tower.
