Role: Recruiter for the arenas of Gruumsh — dead
First met: Session 1 Recap - The Baronet’s Commission
An orc so huge the party first took him for an ogre. He wore metal gauntlets and carried a spear and shield. At the foot of the stair he was shouting for converts to prove their worth in Gruumsh’s arenas.

  • He called Thalan “worthless.” Thalan hit him in the jaw, and the orc’s bare-handed answer glanced off. Elunia’s imp stole his holy medallion.
  • He swore Gruumsh would find them, and did: he ambushed the party in a dead-end alley with self-scarred, frenzied berserkers, a spellcaster who worked through his own blood, and a slaver with a chain of captive pilgrims. He paid the goblin guide, apparently for leading the party there.
  • He died in Elunia’s darkness, pulled apart by tentacles. His last words, to Sandy: “Help me, you dishonourable fiend! I don’t mind dying, but not like this!” No bodies were left.
  • Unresolved: what became of the chained pilgrims.

His crew

Searched in Session 2 Recap - Three to the Dawn.

  • Most of what was left were low-level acolytes of Gruumsh, carrying his emblems.
  • Two were not. One wore his hair in the knots of the The Nameless Ledger, Varys’s old masters. The other had a tattoo on the inside of his wrist: two short lines under an arc. The party couldn’t agree whether it was a smile or a frown, and nobody recognised it.
  • Between them they carried twenty gold. Elunia took back the medallion of Gruumsh.
